BIPA is an independent artistic and cultural platform based in Berlin — a city celebrated as Europe’s capital of creativity, freedom of expression, and diverse artistic voices.

We are not just a festival;
BIPA represents a new model of evaluation, reflection, and presentation — a space where art is understood not merely as a finished product, but as a process of discovery and dialogue.

Our Philosophy

At BIPA, every frame matters.
We believe in precise, multi-layered evaluation. With a single submission, your work is fully reviewed by our international jury and automatically considered for all competitive awards — from major categories to technical and craft distinctions.

What sets us apart is our Solo Judging system — a unique approach in which each work is examined not only in competition with others, but also through an introspective lens against its own individual components. Every element — directing, performance, cinematography, sound, and beyond — is evaluated independently, and the standout elements receive the Elemental Excellence Award.

BIPA embraces the full breadth of contemporary visual expression, including:

Seasons & Screenings

BIPA operates through Seasonal Editions.
At the end of each season, selected works are showcased in our official live screening event in Berlin, hosted at one of our partner cinemas — including Brotfabrik Berlin Cinema.

Winter 2026 marks our inaugural edition — a curated and high-quality event opening a new chapter in Berlin’s cultural calendar.

Beyond Awards

At BIPA, receiving an award is not the final destination — it is the beginning of a professional relationship.
